iPhone FAQ

Here's some frequent questions about the iPhone:

When will the iPhone be released in the UK & Europe?

We're lead to believe that you'll be able to buy the iPhone between October and December 2007 - whilst America should get it in June 2007.

Which networks will the iPhone be avaliable on?
The information we have is that you'll be able to have it on o2 and Vodafone.

How much will the iPhone cost?
Well in the US the 4gb phone will sell for $499 MSRP and the 8gb will be around $599. Which means that we'll possibly end up having it for £299 and the 8gb around £399 but I'm sure there'll be discounts available.

Nokia allow thrid party applications to run - will the iPhone?
Steve Jobs has apparently said that he didn't want rogue applications to tage the Singular network down, so it seems unlikely.

Does the iPhone have external memory?
Er, no. This is the big downside of the iPhone. Other phones, including my nice N95 offers expandable memory. I'm sure many that take pictures and don't want to rely on bluetooth or usb would prefer there to be the possibility of using a flash drive.

It's gotta have WiFi then?
Yes it does - the usual 802.11b/g standard.

What's the battery life like?
Well, they say 5 hours of talk, video or web browsing and 16 hours of audio playback.

My iPod battery is a bugger, will the iPhone battery be like it?
As with the iPod you can get extra batteries as an attachment. It's unlikely you'll be able to get these. But you can get extra usb chargers from MobileFun.

I like my Sony Ericsson Stylus, does the iPhone have one?
Nope, Apple are clever enough to make it touch screen operable.

Can it Sync with PC's?
The information we have is that it can't sync with MS software.
